The two-stage stapling mechanism works with precision: first the staple legs pierce the paper, then the staple ends fold and press completely flat against the sheet. This flat-clinch stapling allows the feet to adhere to the surface of the paper, resulting in up to 30% less space in binders and recorders. Minimal protrusion of the staple ends optimises filing capacity, and despite the flat-clinch stapling, the staples are easy to remove with a staple extractor when needed.
