Cassette chips?!

Uncategories 0 Comments

Many people have questions about the chips in the cartridges; what are they for? How do I replace them? And so on.

We invite you to take a closer look at the cartridges and hope to answer any questions you may have about microchips and make your shopping easier.

Who needs chips?

Cartridge chips read the level by monitoring the number of drops/powders in the cartridge, i.e. the number of drops/powders that have been used in printing so far. The microchips are programmed for specific printer cartridge models and will issue warnings and stop printing when a certain amount of resource is used..

More briefly, the chips are used to identify cartridges and their residue.

Cartridges with and without microchip?

In the trade, you will find that analogue cassettes usually come in several versions: with chip (With Chip) and without chip (W/O Chip). This is the case for the latest cassette models, where analogue manufacturers put analogue cassettes on the market without chips until they develop them.

The microchip cartridges are ready to use and do not require any further work. What about cartridges without chips?

If you have purchased a cartridge without a chip, you will need to remove the chip from the used cartridge and insert it into the analogue cartridge. This can easily be done at home:

step

Cut off the edge of the cartridge next to the chip.

step

Carefully remove the chip from the used cartridge.

step

Insert the chip into a new analogue cartridge.

step

when replacing, remember the correct orientation of the chip shape, align the chip with the side wall.
